The following is a summary of selected SWAN AVIATION past and current projects
Client: Specialized Aerospace Metal Fabricator
SWAN AVIATION was engaged over 18 months to perform a GAP analysis and then to design and help implement a Quality Management System (QMS) for a specialist Aerospace Metal Fabricator in line with AS9100 and elements of ISO9001.
SWAN AVIATION was chosen by the NRC to help in the policy and strategy development and the ongoing implementation of the new Factory of the Future (FoTF) program that will be rolled out in 2016.
Client: RME Geomatics
SWAN AVIATION has been engaged by RME Geomatics (a division of Rocky Mountain Equipment) to design, author, publish and validate a full Safety Management System (SMS) in line with Transport Canada Canadian Aviation Regulations for their unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) surveying operations (Primarily LiDAR, Ortho, RGB and IR).
In addition to the SMS, SWAN AVIATION subject matter experts are also creating a fully detailed UAV / RPAS pilot training program, Aviation Occupational Health and Safety (AOSH) system and providing ongoing operations support in an embedded consulting role.
Client: Curtiss Wright
In conjunction with Orion Canada, SWAN AVIATION was engaged to provide a detailed, in-depth internal audit of the AS-9100 C management system as part of their regularly schedule internal audit program.
Responsible for identifying non-conformance and best practice, SWAN AVIATION auditors helped the client to maintain ongoing compliance with the registrar.
Client: Greater Toronto Airports Authority, Sunwing Airlines, Trans Capital Air, First Air, Porter Airlines, Transport Canada,International Civil Aviation Authority (ICAO), Department of National Defense (DND), Flightstar Aircraft Services, National Research Council of Canada (NRC), and many others.
SWAN AVIATION provides many training courses on a regular basis to a large number of long term clients. Although many courses are offered by SWAN AVIATION, the vast majority of clients engage with us to book in-house investigation, audit and root cause analysis training to improve business performance and to help to maintain regulatory compliance.
In partnership with Orion Canada Inc, SWAN AVIATION provided quality assurance subject matter expertise and process mapped the procurement division of ICAO as part of their ISO 9001:2008 implementation program. The certification was successful with zero non-conformance found by the registrar auditors.
SWAN AVIATION was engaged by the NRC to create ICS training of all key members of the emergency response teams across the country and to design and help implement a centralized Incident Command System for the organization.
Client: 1st Detect
1st Detect designs and manufactures miniature mass spectrometers that can be used for security screening. SWAN AVIATION was engaged to create a complex monte-carlo simulation of an airport security waiting line, to assess the impact of using the 1st detect product on waiting line times and false positive screening results.
Client: Porter Airlines
Wanting to identify potential issues prior to a regulatory audit, SWAN AVIATION was contracted (to be provided on an ongoing basis) to complete a highly in-depth full SMS audit of all Porter Airlines operations. Known and new issues were addressed and multiple best practices were identified to highlight to the regulator.
Client: Flightstar Aircraft Services
In addition to routine investigation, audit and root cause analysis (RCA) training, SWAN AVIATION was asked to conceptually design a process that would allow Flightstar employees to include detailed cost benefit impact analysis as part of corrective action requests under their Safety Management System.
Client: Canadian airline corporation
SWAN AVIATION was asked to create a statistical simulation of flight dispatch operations to assist in effective planning. SWAN AVIATION subject matter experts detailed flight dispatch processes, gathered detailed process data over 2 months and built a highly complex monte-carlo simulation to allow the airline to perform "what if" scenarios for different aspects of dispatch operations planning.
